LogoSmartz Logo Maker is intended for users with little design experience who want to create their own logos. However, it can also be used as an alternative to more expensive software.
Every time you start the program, you are welcomed by a collection of an impressive number of logo templates classified according to their corresponding industries. However, you might prefer to be more original than that and start from scratch, which is also possible. Once you have started editing your logo, you can either modify the elements of the chosen template or simply pick and draw any of the multiple symbols and shapes. Luckily, these are vector objects drawn on layers, which help a lot during the editing process, allowing you to scale objects, change their layer position or delete them. Several tools, such as gradient, shadows and bevel, can help you add effects to these elements and get a more personalized result. The results of your work can be supposedly exported to various picture formats, but the trial version did not allow me to do so.
The program has a nice interface, with a layout similar to those of other drawing applications. Therefore, it is not more difficult to use than Microsoft Office’s drawing tools. It is too bad, the interface does not support various tabs, so you cannot work on more than one project at the same time.
In general, LogoSmartz Logo Maker has almost everything you need to create simple logos. Although, being easier to use than other more sophisticated tools, this application certainly lacks the more complex tools available in advanced software. Besides usability, a more affordable price is another factor to consider.
